The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 and has remained in the Grant family for 5 generations. They have a long established reputation a for top quality speyside malt whisky. Indeed, in 1912 a competitor said 'of all whiskies, malt is king, of all kings Glenfarclas reigns supreme'. The 105 Cask Strength has a big, rich nose with light fruity notes contrasting with the heavier toffee aromas. Assertive at first with some spice and sherried fruit. Develops a lingering smoky flavour with more toffee on the finish. Voted 'Best in Class' in the 2005 IWSC.
