Unlike many Californian estates, Cuvaison produce their wines using grapes from a single, superbly sited vineyard. The new, state-of-the-art winery is in the heart of the vines, which grow in Carneros at the southern end of the Napa Valley, between the towns of Napa and Sonoma. Phylloxera, that blight of vines from the eastern states reached California only recently, and the vineyard was replanted in the early '90s following best Burgundian practice. Expensive, but allowing the wine to reach new heights. The Pinot Noir is matured for 9 months in French oak barriques.
Pale, delicate pink dry rosé from the traditional Languedoc Cinsault grape variety – well made , with clean, fresh strawberry fruit flavours and crisp, refreshing acidity.
Great either for drinking on its own or with lighter fish and shellfish.
