Benchmark Shiraz is a 'fruit driven' wine, designed to be drunk young, without extended ageing. Intended to be regarded as an everyday indulgence (but beware the high alcohol at 14.5%). This vibrant purple wine is dense, rich and spicy. It has aromas of blackberries, black pepper raspberries and spice, which all also show on the smooth palate along with a touch of oak. The finish is long and soft. It has the power to stand up to rich hearty foods, even curry.
