Brunello di Montalcino Italian Red

Carpineto’s Montalcino estate is one of the highest in the appellation at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level, with 10 hectares of vineyard planted to Sangiovese Grosso on a dry-farmed hillside. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in Slovenian oak barrels for three years, followed by at least six months bottle ageing to add complexity. This is a mature Brunello which shows a structured and fine bouquet with hints of vanilla, deep red cherries, raspberry and a touch of liquorice. The palate is elegant and well textured, with a warm, smooth mouthfeel that leads to a long, sustained finish. Lovely Italian Red
