ATA RANGI CRIMSON PINOT NOIR 2020

Ata Rangi was one of the early pioneers of grape growing in the Martinborough region in the early 1980s. They are now according to UK winewriter Tim Atkin, ’widely regarded as New Zealand’s top Pinot Noir producer’. A vibrant, lively and accessible Pinot Noir. From a relatively cool season, it is restrained at first, but opens layer by layer in the glass to show lovely wild cherry and dark berry notes. More savoury than ‘sweet’, there are intriguing touches of thyme, sandalwood and dried rose pot pourri. The palate is focused by tight, fine tannins.
