Moutard Prestige Champagne Rosé - NV
70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay
The Moutards have been making wine since 1642. Francois Moutard's 21-hectare vineyard is situated in Buxeuil at the extreme south east of Champagne on the Côte des Bar, the highest region in Champagne. Pinot Noir thrives particularly well on the clay and limestone soils. Francois is one of the few growers who can produce a '6 Cepages' Champagne made up of the six allowable grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Petit Meslier and Arbane.
The 10 – 20 year-old Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines are hand harvested and this blend is aged for a minimum of three years.
Initial floral notes blend with red fruit such as raspberries and wild strawberries, evolving into peppery and spicy aromas. Subtle yet complex, this is a beautiful Champagne with a distinctive style.
